Israel lawmaker emerging as main foil to Netanyahu

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) ? Danny Danon says he has no problem with his party leader, Israel's prime minister ? so long as he doesn't make peace.

The ambitious deputy defense minister isn't a household name internationally yet, but at home he has emerged as an unlikely opponent to Benjamin Netanyahu and his strongest opposition within the hawkish ruling Likud Party.

A soft-spoken lawmaker with a penchant for sharp suits, Danon is suddenly a major stumbling block toward Palestinian statehood as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry embarks on his latest push to restart long-dormant peace talks.

While Netanyahu attempts to convince the world of his peaceful intentions and sincere commitment to establishing a Palestinian state as part of a final peace settlement, Danon has repeatedly defied the prime minister's stance while generating the type of political power that could hinder Netanyahu's ability to make concessions.

His rising influence has raised Palestinian suspicions that Netanyahu is unwilling ?and unable ? to make peace. From his plush office on the 15th-floor of the gleaming, state-of-the-art Defense Ministry complex in Tel Aviv, Danon does nothing to dispel the suspicions.

"I think the prime minister knows that if he is presenting the ideology of the Likud Party we all support him," Danon said, noting that Likud has only had four leaders in its 65-year history. "It means that we do respect our leaders. But if the leader decides to go to the other direction then ... there will be changes within the Likud."

The Likud has long been the leader of Israel's nationalist camp, believing the country should control all of the biblical Land of Israel between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. But Netanyahu and other party moderates have gradually come to the conclusion that there is no choice but to divide the land between a Jewish state and a Palestinian one.

Danon, 42, is among a group of young hard-liners who rose to prominence during a Likud primary vote last year. These officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin, Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein, deputy transportation minister Tzipi Hotovely and coalition whip Yariv Levin, oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state and are strong proponents of building settlements in east Jerusalem and the West Bank. The Palestinians claim both areas, captured by Israel in the 1967 war, for their future state.

Danon, a secular father of three, is the most vocal and has become the brightest star and strongest counterforce within the party. He finished fifth in the slate of candidates chosen in last year's primary, well ahead of many party stalwarts, and this week he was overwhelmingly elected head of the Likud convention with 86 percent of the vote. On Sunday, he is expected to score another landslide victory and become chairman of the Likud Central Committee, a key position that will grant him power to set the agenda of the committee's 3,500 members and complicate any Netanyahu initiatives.

He has also generated an impressive following in America, particularly among Christian evangelicals. His recent English-language book ? "Israel: the will to prevail" ? outlines his vision of further Israeli control over the West Bank. It won't find many fans in the Obama administration, but it did receive high praise from two of Danon's closest American allies: former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and conservative TV personality Glenn Beck.

The front page of Friday's mass-daily Yediot Ahronot points to Danon's surge to prominence at home. Under the headline "Between Kerry and Danon," a cartoon shows Danon and others pinning Netanyahu to the ground. The paper's humor column has a mock quote from Kerry saying he is optimistic his visit can help promote a "brave and effective negotiation between Netanyahu and Danny Danon."

Danon, until recently a rather anonymous backbencher, has garnered so much influence that Netanyahu's chief peace negotiator, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, recently called on the prime minister to reject "Danonism" and forge ahead toward peace. The Palestinian chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, had also cited Danon by name as someone who is killing the prospect of peace.

Danon remains undeterred and is convinced Netanyahu does not have the political backing to cede parts of the West Bank.

"I think that the majority of people, not only inside the Likud, but also within the Israeli public, will not support such a dangerous initiative," he said of a Palestinian state. "It is not just my personal opinion. I represent a lot of people ... that think like me that the idea of land for peace doesn't work anymore."

Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula following its 1979 peace accord with Egypt and made small border adjustments after signing peace with Jordan in 1994. It unilaterally withdrew from the Gaza Strip and evacuated Jewish settlers there in 2005. But the Hamas militant group subsequently seized control of the area, and continued rocket fire out of Gaza has stoked fears that a pullout from the West Bank, located close to major Israeli cities, would bring similar and devastating results.

That withdrawal also spawned a revolt within the Likud against then-leader Ariel Sharon, who eventually bolted to establish the centrist Kadima Party. Netanyahu, who led the rebel forces, eventually took over as leader.

His party has since drifted further to the right, with Jewish settlers taking over key positions and introducing legislation that seeks to give Israel's Jewish nature precedence over its democratic nature.

Political commentator Hanan Kristal said Danon is trying to position himself as leader of the group and a potential future alternative to Netanyahu.

"Danon is Bibi from 10 years ago," he said, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname. "He (Danon) is a Likudnik and he is saying what a lot of them believe. He just says it clearly and without mincing words."

Netanyahu has distanced himself from Danon, insisting his comments do not reflect government policy, but he hasn't fired him either as some have suggested he should.

Danon makes no apologies for his maverick ways.

"I don't do things to try and disturb him," he said. "We are in the same boat. I don't want everyone rowing their oars in different directions but I do try to preserve what I believe in."

With Kerry pressing hard to get Israeli and Palestinian leaders to resume peace talks that have been on hold since 2008, and Netanyahu's centrist coalition partners urging a breakthrough, the prime minister may soon be forced to choose between the unity of his government and the unity of his party.

Danon says Netanyahu is free to negotiate as he pleases, but if he ultimately reaches the contours of a deal he will have to bring it to a vote among his party and a general election for the people to decide.

"It is not the case today. It is premature to even discuss this because I don't think the prime minister is going in this direction," he said.

Others disagree. There are jitters in the party that Netanyahu is nearing the point of following in Sharon's path toward concessions. He has recently been sending signals that he is ready for compromises and has accepted the narrative of former opponents that ending the West Bank occupation is essential for Israel.

The prime minister's office refused to comment on Danon's rise in Likud. Associates, though, have been quoted anonymously in the media as saying Danon is pushing Netanyahu out of the party with an extremist hostile takeover.

"Being prime minister of Israel is a very difficult job," Danon said. "There are those who are pushing the ship in one direction and it is legitimate for people like me to pull him in a different direction. He is the captain, steering the ship. At the end of the day, the prime minister navigates."

To Be A Writer Now, Always | By St?phane Erickson ? The Wanderer

?If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind?

?Yet it is as evident in itself, as any amount of argument can make it, that ages are no more infallible than individuals; every age having held many opinions which subsequent ages have deemed not only false but absurd; and it is as certain that many opinions now general will be rejected by future ages, as it is that many, once general, are rejected by the present.?

? John Milton (1644)

There?s an unspoken courage to writing. To pencil dissent. To type emotion. To defy. To question. To dare. To go against.

To make the natural unnatural ? or to make the unnatural natural.

To recognize that every era has its own natural makeup of things, its own natural order of being, its own definition of normalcy, its own idea of acceptance and tolerance.

But not to accept it blindly. To rather think. To ask. To seek.

Ideas change. People change. Societies change. And humankind thus evolves and progresses.

To be a writer at the forefront of societal transformation. To contribute. To write ideas knowing that they may not be met with welcome. That they may not be received by your peers, tutors, family, friends.

To be young and, in spite of everything, you write. You write knowing that your work is not subtracted from the equation of future repercussions. And in spite of uncertainty, of fear, of doubt, you write from your humanity, from you. You write from human experience. Not just from your own, but from those who surround you. From the role models, colleagues, communities, enemies, loved ones, hated ones, who left a part of them with you ? making your writing your own, while also reflecting the shadows and impact of others in your work.

Looking at an issue and seeing wrong, but seeing an ocean of obstacles. Yet not abandoning the question. But instead transforming your penciled voice, abstract colors of thought and argument, into black and white ? letters, words becoming creativity and passion onto virgin pages once naked and blank, once empty of humanness.

Knowing that you are but one. Knowing that you are but you. Still taking the universe on, regardless. And seeing purpose. Self-justified, self-given purpose, but purpose nonetheless.

Believing that if you write on an issue, if you dare to write, then that issue will not loose its importance, and continue to live through your words, through the timelessness of language.

Understanding that writing is documenting. Writing is sharing. Writing is making the mortal immortal. Writing makes the silence speak. It makes the forgotten remembered. The unwritten written. It cultivates and celebrates memory. It challenges the comfortableness of apathy, ignorance and greed. It adds to who we are as a community, as a people, as a whole.

To be a writer is to be a storyteller. And it?s to make stories transcend through time and borders. To remind others that, collectively, our community is a myriad of stories interacting with one another. A reminder that our actions affect others, that every person is not for him or herself, that islands do not exist in human collectiveness.

And that is why it is also a message of hope. Hope to those who believe that change is impossibly monumental or that the status quo cannot be overcome. To those who believe that their humanity is a solitary experience. To those who fail to see ? or who have not been allowed to see ? that we humans are indeed bound by one another.

Writing is more than an art. It?s an expression of our values, of our heritage. It?s a testimony of our identity. Of our belonging. Of our selves. Of our very essence.

BlueStacks introduces the GamePop Mini, its first subscription-based 'free' game console

In an effort to outdo itself, BlueStacks is announcing the GamePop Mini for the cube-buying averse. The biggest difference between the Mini (seen above on the left) and the cube (the... uh... cube above) isn't the form factor, it's in pricing. Where the regular GamePop is $129 (unless you act soon) the Mini is "free" after a 12-month subscription of $7 per-month, or $84 total. At this price, it costs less than an OUYA, but slightly more than a GameStick. "If you keep it more than 12 months, you keep it forever," BlueStacks' Head of Marketing and Business Development John Gargiulo told us. Of course, there's not much to do with with the Mini without a subscription. "It'd be like if Netflix did it this way and had hardware - the unit would be useless without the subscription." Additionally, if you return the Mini inside of 12 months, there's a $25 restocking fee.

The subscription gives users access to a plethora of games from 500 "popular mobile game partners." Those partners include the teams behind Jetpack Joyride and Fieldrunners. "Getting the kind of developer support we've gotten, it sets us apart. We saw what happened with the Dreamcast and we saw what happened with the Wii U. You need to have good launch titles; there needs to be games everyone recognizes and wants to play."

To make GamePop more enticing to developers, Bluestacks created Looking Glass -- proprietary tech allowing iOS-only apps to run on its Android-4.2-based console. When an iOS app makes calls to Apple's hardware, Looking Glass interprets those calls and translates them to the GamePop Mini's hardware. Of course, a few changes within the code are necessary. "[Porting is] not easy, but I would submit it's not hard, relatively speaking," Garguilo said.

Sally McGraw: How Body Positivity and Figure Flattery Can Coexist

I used to utilize so much energy hating my body that I exhausted myself into depression. For years I tried to change my body with diets and exercise, believing that its shape and size were the root of the problem, but I just kept on hating it. When I began exploring fashion and style -- dressing in fun, flattering and form-fitting clothes -- an unexplored universe opened up to me. For the first time, I respected my body. I realized that there was nothing wrong with my body. I saw my body as integral to my identity. I wanted to show it off, decorate it joyously and hone my personal style so that I could understand it on new levels. Shortly after those realizations clicked into place, I launched my blog. Discovering that connection between looking good and feeling good, as it relates to style, is what inspired me to create Already Pretty. Because when I started to dress in a way that made me look amazing and feel amazing, I finally stopped actively, continually, exhaustively hating my body. And I immediately wanted to show other women how to make that connection so they could stop hating theirs.

I write about the intersection of style and body image, and I get a lot of questions about how I can call myself a body image advocate and still dish out advice on how to flatter the female form in traditional, socially sanctioned ways. I understand that many people perceive a disconnect, but there are several reasons I think it's important to discuss style in this way.

The reader-submitted questions I receive most frequently are about traditional figure flattery topics, and I address them along with all the others. My guess is that just about every style writer, stylist and style expert is plied with such questions almost constantly. Unlike many other style writers, however, I am very careful about how I address these questions. I emphasize choice and encourage people to think about why these specific figure flattery priorities are viewed as important. I never talk about figure "flaws" because I don't believe that bodies are flawed and loathe that judgmental term. When I offer traditional figure flattery advice it is never couched in terms of fixing things or hiding imperfections, and relatively few of my readers frame their requests in those terms. The dialogue is about choosing what you love about your figure and want to highlight, and also about understanding the challenges you face and the aspects you'd rather downplay. I am yet to meet a woman who loves absolutely everything about her body, top to tail and dresses without giving a single thought to what will be showcased most prominently. And while I completely agree with the sentiment behind "dress in what makes you feel happy and comfortable" -- a message I promote myself, and often -- I think that the morass of style rules, body negativity and mixed messages that women receive about style and their figures leaves many of them feeling confused about which clothes COULD make them feel happy and comfortable. Hence their questions.

I've been writing about this stuff for six years and working one-on-one with style consult clients for five, and I'll tell you something: Even women who hire me specifically because they love my body-positive stance want my advice about regular old figure flattery. When I work with them, I lean hard on acceptance and ask lots of questions because I want them to understand where those urges to look tall and thin are coming from. But I also give them what they want because I know that feeling good about how you look often begins with conforming to traditional standards of style before branching off into individuality. You've got to know the rules before you can break them. And I know for a fact that what I say to them about questioning their choices, accepting themselves as fully as possible and not worrying so much about what the fashion rags say has an impact. Because they follow-up to tell me so.

I think each individual woman is capable of gathering information, evaluating it and deciding for herself how she wants to present her figure and body and self to the world. I understand that many people view my writings about figure flattery as hypocritical, and I'm just fine with that. I don't think that "There's nothing wrong with your body" is sufficient or helpful to the vast majority of women who are both interested in style and struggling with body image. Although some may hear that rallying cry and feel empowered to shirk the rules and truly wear absolutely anything that makes them feel fabulous, others may feel like it's the equivalent of being told, "Just get over yourself and stop whining." The former group probably doesn't want my help or input on style or body image in the first place. The latter group, however, is looking for a space to explore style that includes some structure and advice, but remains free of judgment.

These women are learning about themselves through clothing -- just as I did -- and their questions are valid. They crave something more concrete and actionable than, "Wear whatever you want whenever you want." I'd rather give them ways to make their waists look smaller presented kindly and with some reminders about socially reinforced beauty standards than have them running to Stacy London or Tim Gunn. (Who, try as they might, always seem to give people the impression that there is one right way to look good). No blogger is going to cure women of their body image issues and hang-ups or have perfect answers to every possible style question. But my hope is to encourage the women who read my writing to begin thinking and talking, give them some new tools to use, offer some supportive language about self-acceptance and provide a place to discuss it all.

Some people who read my writing will never see this, or agree to it. I understand and respect that because I know there are many ways to view the world and parse information. Just as some people will always maintain that if you shave your legs or wear lipstick you absolutely cannot be a feminist, some people will say that if you wear high heels to elongate your legs you absolutely cannot be a body image advocate. Those are opinions, so there is no true right or wrong to be had. I'm a pretty black and white thinker myself, but this is one realm in which I'm happy to live in the gray. Because there seem to be an awful lot of women who are looking for a middle ground between "dress skinny" and "fuck flattering," and I want to create a safe haven for those women to explore their questions.

Report: Qatar's emir plans to step down for son

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) ? Qatar's ruler said Monday he plans to transfer power to his 33-year-old son, the Gulf nation's crown prince, a report said, in what would mark a rare transition of authority in a region where most leaders remain until death.

The report by Qatar-based Al-Jazeera gave no other details, including whether health issues of the 61-year emir, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, played a role in the decision. The network was founded by Qatar's government and closely reflects its views on internal issues.

Such a transfer will jolt the ruling fraternity across the Western-backed Gulf Arab states by ushering a new generation into leadership ranks dominated by old guard figures, such as the 90-year-old King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia.

It also appears to signal a pro-active response to the Arab Spring upheavals ? and their emphasis on giving voice to the region's youth. Under Hamad, Qatar, a small Gulf nation with a population of around 17 million ? only around 225,000 of whom are citizens ? has used its vast energy riches to catapult itself into one of the world's most politically ambitious countries. It has served as a powerful player in the Middle East, including key support for rebels in Libya last year and now in Syria and for the Muslim Brotherhood, which rose to political dominance in Egypt.

No major policy shifts are expected when Hamad steps down. The British-educated crown prince, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has been closely involved in all key decisions in recent years and the emir is likely to play important roles from the wings.

"The emir may be giving up power formally, but he is not giving up his oversight," said Christopher Davidson, an expert in Gulf Affairs at Britain's Durham University.

Qatar's reach is further extended by its global investment strategies ? ranging from sports clubs such as football's Paris Saint-Germain to aid for debt-burdened Greece and Italy ? and its role as mediator in conflicts such as Sudan's Darfur region and regional disputes including Palestinian political rifts. Qatar this week hosted a Syrian opposition conference attended by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and is the venue for possible U.S.-led peace talks with Afghanistan's Taliban.

Such a power transfer would become the first major shift of rule among the Western-allied Gulf Arab states since a contentious transition in Kuwait in early 2006.

"This is message to the rest of the region that Qatar is not just a outside player in the Arab Spring but is ready to make room for changes as well," said Mustafa Alani, a regional analyst with the Gulf Research Center in Geneva.

Qatar has made no official statements, including statements on the speculation that the emir is ailing. The emir is expected to make a nationwide address Tuesday.

While no immediate policy changes would be expected under the crown prince, a possible transition could include the departure of Sheik Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, the country's highly influential prime minister and foreign minister. He has played a central role in expanding Qatar's international clout since 1995, when the emir took power in a bloodless coup against his father. His resignation would allow the crown prince to immediately put his stamp on key positions in the government.

The crown prince, too, has been active in pushing high-profile initiatives by Qatar, including winning the rights to host the 2022 World Cup and leading Doha's unsuccessful effort for the 2020 Olympics. Doha has expressed interest in seeking the 2024 Games.

Sheik Tamim became the next in line to rule in 2003 after his older brother stepped aside.

Strong Museum to House Toy Industry Hall of Fame

The great minds of the toy industry will be honored alongside their famous creations when the Toy Industry Hall of Fame combines with the National Toy Hall of Fame under a partnership announced Tuesday.

The 5,000-square-foot National Toy Hall of Fame gallery at the Strong museum in Rochester will undergo $4 million in renovations, with the goal of opening the combined hall in the fall of 2015.

The Toy Industry Hall of Fame, whose inductees have included Milton Bradley, Frederick August Otto Schwarz, Walt Disney and George Lucas, has been without a physical presence for about eight years following the closure of the International Toy Center in New York City.

Leaders of both halls have been talking for some time about combining the two as a way to raise their visibility and exposure and to promote their educational missions.

"With its unique emphasis on the power of play, the Strong is an ideal home for this homage to both the toys that have influenced generations of children and the innovative minds that brought them to life," Carter Keithley, president of the Toy Industry Association, said at a news conference at the Strong museum, where items like alphabet blocks, roller skates, the Frisbee, Lincoln Logs and the stick occupy places of honor.

The combined halls, with high-tech and hands-on interactive displays, will enable visitors to explore how cultural trends, gender and changing technologies have shaped the design, production and marketing of toys, officials said, including how games like Monopoly and The Game of Life reinforced faith in capitalism and the pursuit of the American dream.

The National Toy Hall of Fame was established in 1998 and accepts nominations from anyone. A national selection committee composed of historians, educators and others choose the annual selections. The Toy Industry Hall of Fame was established in 1985 by the Toy Industry Association and inducts about two people a year from among industry nominees.

U.S. boss held by Chinese workers awaits outcome

BEIJING (AP) ? An American executive held in his Beijing medical supply plant by angry workers says he's waiting for his lawyers to arrive to resolve a compensation dispute that highlights tensions in China's labor market.

Chip Starnes was enduring a fifth day of captivity Tuesday at the factory that makes products for Coral Springs, Florida-based Specialty Medical Supplies.

About 100 workers are demanding generous severance packages identical to those offered 30 workers being laid-off from the company's plastics division. The demands followed rumors the entire plant was being closed, despite Starnes' assertion the company doesn't plan to fire the others.

Union official Chu Lixiang said the workers were demanding unpaid salary and "fair or reasonable" compensation. Securing severance is a primary concern among workers often left unprotected when factories close.

Self Storage REIT CubeSmart Completes $800M in Unsecured ...

Self-storage real estate investment trust CubeSmart has completed approximately $800 million in unsecured bank financing through amendments to its existing credit facility and term loan agreements, company officials announced.

"With our amended credit facilities, we benefit from substantially improved pricing as well as extended terms that reinforce our well-staggered debt-maturity profile," said Tim Martin, chief financial officer. "We are delighted to have strong and continued support from our long-standing banking relationships. Iraq: Turnout in Sunni vote shows many stayed home

BAGHDAD (AP) ? Many Iraqis stayed home for delayed elections in two restive Sunni-dominated provinces, with half of the eligible voters participating in one and even fewer casting ballots in the other, election officials said Friday.

Much of Iraq voted for provincial council members on April 20 in the country's first election since the U.S. military withdrawal. But officials delayed elections in Anbar and Ninevah provinces until Thursday because of what they said were security concerns.

Independent High Electoral Commission member Muqdad al-Shuraifi said Friday that 50 percent of eligible voters cast ballots in the western province of Anbar ? roughly in line with the national average turnout. Only 38 percent voted in the northern province of Ninevah.

Electoral officials have said the overall turnout for the April vote was 51 percent ? the same as during the last provincial elections in 2009.

"We consider the turnout good considering the general situation in these two provinces," IHEC spokesman Safaa al-Moussawi said.

Anbar and Ninevah have seen some of the largest rallies in a months-long wave of Sunni anti-government protests. They also have faced repeated attacks by militants, mainly directed at security forces, election candidates and government officials.

Officials were unable to provide provincial-level turnout figures for the last provincial elections in 2009.

Thursday's elections, like those in the past, were held amid tight security. Thousands of policemen and soldiers were deployed to secure the elections, and authorities imposed a vehicle ban in major cities in the two provinces to protect against car bombings.

The vote itself was relatively calm, with one person reported killed and three wounded in a mortar attack in in Ramadi, the provincial capital of Anbar, 115 kilometers (70 miles) west of Baghdad.

But after polls closed, a suicide bomber was able to enter the main ballot-counting center in Ramadi and blow himself up. That attack killed seven and wounded eight, according to security and hospital officials in Anbar.

The violence continued Friday. A bomb left in a major commercial street in the neighborhood of Dora in southern Baghdad exploded Friday afternoon, killing two people and wounding nine, according to police. The force of the blast damaged several shops in the area.

Hospital officials confirmed the casualty numbers. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to release the details.

Iraq is weathering its worst spike in violence in half a decade, with nearly 2,000 people killed since the start of April. Much of the violence is the work of the Sunni extremist al-Qaida branch in Iraq, which seeks to undermine support for the Shiite-led government in Iraq.

Facebook Finally Gets Hashtags

Facebook Finally Gets Hashtags

Facebook now has hashtags. #copycats #upyourstwitter #noonereallycares

The social network wants to make it easier for users to find content already on Facebook, and functional hashtags are the first step. According to Facebook, many users already post hashtags anyway, so why not make them work? Hashtags will be both clickable and searchable, so, for example, topics like #NSALeaks or #NBAFinals will now exist.

Ethan Hawke to play 'Macbeth' on Broadway

NEW YORK (AP) ? The Scottish play isn't taking much of a break before coming back. Ethan Hawke plans to return to Broadway this winter to play the title role in "Macbeth."

The Shakespeare tragedy will mark a reunion for Hawke with director Jack O'Brien at Lincoln Center Theater, where he starred in "Henry IV" and "The Coast of Utopia," for which he was nominated for a Tony Award.

Hawke is currently starring in the horror film "The Purge" and the romantic drama "Before Midnight," the third film in a series with "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset."

"Macbeth" had its latest incarnation on Broadway in a one-man show by Alan Cumming, which is set to close in July. Patrick Stewart led another cast in 2008.

For those who can't wait, a "Macbeth" starring Kenneth Branagh and Alex Kingston will be broadcast to movie theaters across the country from Manchester International Festival as part of National Theatre Live this July.

Performances of Hawke's "Macbeth" begin Oct. 24. The show is one of four that Lincoln Center Theater announced Thursday for the upcoming season, including the new Bruce Norris play "Domesticated" directed by Anna D. Shapiro and starring Laurie Metcalf.

James Lapine will direct his own adaptation of Moss Hart's autobiography "Act One" and Doug Hughes will direct the world premiere of The City of Conversation, a new play by Anthony Giardina.
